Hey, before you get too far along with this thing, think about setting up a Posterous page. Simple to set up, and you can post photos, videos, audio clips, and text from your phone or computer by text, email, or login. Here's the one I did for my summer vacation and beyond, for inspiration:

Yeeeeaaaaah, about that...there is no phone service in the Yukon, and doubtful on the inet hookups as well.
